My husband and I have spent the last few days helping fix up
a house for friends of ours. They Pastor the church that owns the house. We
worked some long hard hours painting, cleaning and repairing. It had been
neglected for some time and a few people wondered if it could be made livable
again.
Boy, does it sparkle now! It’s been transformed and made
useful again – ready for someone to move in and enjoy.
I will say my muscles are sore and I’m pretty tired. But it
was worth all the work and sacrifice. What a shame it would have been to let
the house sit there several more years.
I thought about a few writing projects that I have
neglected. Ideas sitting on a shelf
because I haven’t sacrificed to shine them up and make them ready for someone
to enjoy. I have squandered time and energy on other things that really don’t
need my attention. Those are precious hours that would have transformed that
manuscript gathering dust on my computer.
Now I remember how great it feels to finish a project and
know I have given it my all. I hope I can go home, muster the ambition and work
like there’s no tomorrow. I know I have words to offer – they just need to be
repaired and polished.
Do you feel those unfinished projects calling to you?

YES!!!!! I have been very neglectful as of late and am missing those stories! :O)
ReplyDeleteYes, actually I do, and I need to dig in and get moving! Thanks for the encouragement. :)
ReplyDeleteIf only I had the time.... No really it's just a question of prioritising, isn't it? Unfinished projects - here I come!!
ReplyDeletePat, I guess it's up to us to find motivation. Im just not always in the mood for that! I guess that makes us human! You go girl.
